Overview
The Particle Morphing System turns 3D objects into particle-based forms and seamlessly morphs those particles into the shape of another object. It's built for cinematic sequences, interactive gameplay moments and art pieces — anywhere a transformation should feel dynamic rather than cut.
It's implemented in Unreal Engine with Niagara, materials and Blueprint logic, and released on GitHub.
Control over the morph
- Shapes — start and target forms from meshes or images.
- Timeline — design detailed sequences of morphing and particle filling; multiple objects can morph simultaneously, one after another, or in a custom order.
- Look — colour, shape, fade and movement styles per transition, and transition speed.
- Triggers — timed, or driven by gameplay events.
- Endings — choose how a morph or fill finishes, with options for the final animation of the particle form.
The system is fully compatible with Unreal's Sequencer, so morphs can be driven from a custom timeline, from Sequencer, or both together — fitting straight into traditional animation workflows.
